Meeting Minutes from the CRS Committee Meeting

 

Location:        City of Fort Collins – Utilities Dept.

Date/Time:     March 26, 2008, 10:00AM – 12:00PM

Goals:

  1. Increase awareness among CASFM members of the CRS program

    1. Amount of work required to enter/maintain CRS credits

    2. Identify issues where assistance may be necessary

  2. Provide a mechanism for communities to be more informed about CRS issues and be able to provide feedback to the CRS Task Force

    1. Improve communication

  3. Increase the number of CRS communities in Colorado

  4. Establish new CRS. credit activities specific to this region of the country

    1. Wildfires, erosion stability, etc.

 

 

Possible Activities:

  1. Coordinate with CASFM Outreach Committee

    1. Contact the Colorado Municipal League

    2. Contact Colorado Counties, Inc.

  2. Present information about CRS at the CASFM Conference in September.

    1. Schedule a Fall 2008 follow-up workshop

    2. Future plans for a 2009 CASFM Conference workshop, session, or panel discussion

  3. Provide feedback to the CRS Task Force

  4. Contact other state or regional CRS Committees

 

 

Action Items:

  1. Marsha will compile comments from interested concerning proposals by the CRS Task Force.  All feedback must be submitted by April 8, 2008. 

  2. Georgia will explore opportunities to prepare a CRS workshop.  She will prepare a limited agenda, estimate potential costs, and review funding and scheduling opportunities. 

  3. Brian H. will contact clients and state associations to see if there are similar programs already in place for cross-coordination and workshop opportunities. 

  4. Brian V. will contact the Palm Beach County Association to discover their involvement, and discuss possible cross-coordination opportunities.
