Colorado Field Deployed CRS Training Opportunity CASFM is sponsoring FEMAs
Emergency Management Institute (EMI) field deployed Community Rating System
(CRS) course!
This course (E-278) covers the CRS, a nationwide
initiative of FEMA's National Flood Insurance Program.
The course describes activities eligible for
credit under CRS, how a community applies, and how a community modifies an
application to improve its classification. There are over 18,000 flood
insurance policies in Colorado that have approximately $15,000,000 in annual
premiums.
Colorado communities that participate in the CRS
program save their residents over $1,100,000 annually along with the other
priceless benefits of being a CRS community!
In addition, this course will be geared
specifically for Colorado communities and will include the effects of the
upcoming 2012 CRS manual changes.
When:
October 11 through 14, 2011.
8:30 am to 5:00 pm each day.
Where:
Longmont Safety and Justice Center
Prerequisites:
You must be one or more of the following:

Be a Certified
Floodplain Manager (CFM)
·
Have completed the E
273, Managing Floodplain development through the National Flood Insurance
Program (NFIP) course · Be a full-time Floodplain Manager with 3 or more years of full-time floodplain management experience
·
Be a CRS Coordinator
At this time, there is a
limit of two people per jurisdiction.
