2002: Riding the Storm Out
NOMINATIONS SOUGHT FOR OUTSTANDING PROJECTS
The Colorado Association of Stormwater and Floodplain Managers (CASFM) is soliciting nominations for its 2002 Project Awards. Stormwater and floodplain management projects in Colorado are welcome.
Four projects will be selected for presentation at the 2002 CASFM Annual Conference to be held in Steamboat Springs, Colorado September 11-13, 2002. Conference attendees will vote at the conclusion of the presentations to determine the outcome. The project receiving the most votes will receive the “2002 CASFM Grand Award for Engineering Excellence.” In addition, the winning project will become CASFM’s submittal for the national awards competition held by the Association of State Floodplain Managers (ASFPM).

Eligibility: |
Colorado project completed prior to May 2002. Projects may be public or private ownership. Submittals may be made by the designer and/or owner. Projects need not be constructed improvements and may be a planning study, public education program, flood response plan, criteria manual, etc. Projects submitted in previous years are ineligible. |

Submittal Materials: |
Submit a project description (1 copy) and any supplemental information including photographs, drawings, renderings, reports, graphic media, etc. Project descriptions should address the judging criteria listed below. |

Judging Criteria: |
1) Does the project enhance the public health, safety, and welfare? 2) Does the project enhance the surrounding environment? 3) Does the project incorporate any creative, unique or innovative solutions or designs? 4) Does the project include multiple-objective management in achieving its goal? 5) Did the project meet its goal with respect to problem solution, budget, and time schedule? 6) Can the project serve as a model for other communities and/or other projects? |
