a) Denver Metro The most recent social was held in Boulder. Due to inclement weather, the band that was scheduled to perform on the patio was unable to do so. Nancy Love helped to plan the social.
b) Northeast A tour of canals and ponds was conducted by the City of Fort Collins and was attended by 27 people.
c) Southeast A social was held at CB & Potts.
d) Northwest The region has not been very active. People are interested but the region is geographically large. A stormwater training class was held in Grand Junction.
e) Southwest
No activities have been held. The region is very spread out.
5) Committee
Reports
a) Floodplain/CFM Forty-six people took the CFM exam. If the majority of people pass, Colorado will have over 300 CFMs.
b) Stormwater Quality Approximately 50 people attended the annual field trip. Volume 3 of the Urban Drainage and Flood Control Districts Urban Storm Drainage Criteria Manual is being revised. There is a large steering committee for this effort.
c) Scholarship Jeff Cheng was awarded the 2008 Ben Urbonas CASFM Scholarship.
d) Outreach Ken MacKenzie received good ideas from Pam Pogue regarding outreach. There is plenty of room for new committee members.
e) Membership/Training CASFM has 707 members as of July. The Colorado Water Conservation Board held floodplain training sessions. An ecological streambank restoration class was held. Two other planned classes had to be cancelled due to lack of interest. Training has been coordinated with Urban Watersheds Research Institute, of which one member typically attends the training committee meetings. A membership survey was sent but only 37 responses were received. The training program is in a re-grouping mode.
f) Website No report.
g) Community Rating System The goal of the committee is to have more involvement of communities so they can get credits. A workshop will be held later this fall.
