2007 LEVEE WORKSHOPS |

The
Colorado Water Conservation Board (CWCB) and the Colorado Association of
Stormwater and Floodplain Managers (CASFM) are pleased to announce a series of
levee seminars.
These seminars shall provide information that pertains to the Federal Emergency
Management Agency’s (FEMA) and the U.S Army Corps of Engineers’ (USACE) levee
requirements.

The seminars will address the following topics: 1) FEMA’s certification requirements for levees; 2) levee ownership and maintenance responsibilities; 3) Provisionally Accredited Levees (PAL); 4) the USACE and levees: 5) CWCB and UDFCD levee policies; 6) levee certification examples; and 7) future trends in levee certification. |
The target audience is: 1) local floodplain administrators of all experience levels, 2) local government personnel involved with building or maintaining levees, 3) local officials involved in levee construction or funding decisions, and 4) consultants or others tasked with designing, building or maintaining levees. It is highly recommended that local government personnel attend, regardless of their level of experience. |
