2010 NFIP REFORM MEETINGS

 

Please see the message below for information regarding two NFIP Public Meeting opportunities FEMA will be hosting to provide information on the NFIP Reform efforts as well as hear comments from interested stakeholders.  The first meeting will be held in Washington, D.C. The second meeting will be in Denver on December 9, and I encourage you to reserve a spot and attend if at all possible to let your thoughts be known on the NFIP Reform policy philosophies and alternatives options.  If you are unable to make either of these meetings, there is still opportunity to provide comments to the NFIP Reform Workgroup via http://www.nfipreform.com/ through December 31, 2010.   Attached you will find the Federal Register notice for these public meetings as well as more details on submitting written comments.

NFIP Reform Public Meetings

FEMA will be hosting two public meetings to describe, update, and explain the policy options for deliberation and to answer questions and hear comments from interested stakeholders. Through these public meetings, FEMA will also accept stakeholder input on the evaluation criteria through the pair-wise comparison worksheet. This process will allow stakeholders to on the evaluation process used in the policy analysis.

Reservations

Due to space constraints, seating will be limited to 200 participants. To reserve a seat, please email or mail your request and include the participant’s name, mailing address, and e-mail address, and the meeting(s) to be attended. On the subject or attention line or on the envelope please write Reservation Request for NFIP Reform Meeting. Submit reservations to FEMA-NFIP-reform@dhs.gov or NFIP Reform, 1800 South Bell Street, Room 970, Arlington, VA 20598-3030.

Advance reservations must be received three business days prior to the meeting to ensure processing. Unregistered participants will be accepted after all participants with reservations have been accommodated and will be admitted on a first-come, first-serve basis, as space permits.
