SUMMARY:2-Day HEC-RAS Sediment Transport Course
DESCRIPTION:Lead by West Consultants\, this hands-on seminar and computer workshop provides practical\ntraining in sediment transport modeling. We will cover the algorithms HEC-RAS uses to compute\nsediment transport\, selecting a transport function\, computing transport capacity\, the quasi-unsteady\nflow assumption\, bed mixing algorithms\, bed change options\, and other fundamental computations.\nThe course will also discuss avoiding common sediment transport modeling problems.\nIntensive workshops will instruct participants in basic sediment transport modeling input (e.g.\,\nboundary conditions\, bed sediment samples\, hydraulic information)\, model options (e.g.\, dredging\,\ntransport equation calibration\, cohesive transport\, etc.)\, and output features. \nAttendees should bring their own laptop with HEC-RAS 5.0.3 \nLearning Outcomes: \n\nSet up and execute a sediment transport analysis within HEC-RAS.\nRecognize the transport methods within HEC-RAS and select appropriate function(s).\nApply calibration and sensitivity techniques to their models.\nTroubleshoot HEC-RAS sediment models.\n\n7 CFM credits will be awarded per day attended. \nCost: \n\nEarly Registration (by May 13): $400\nLate Registration (after May 13): $525\n\nDates & Times: \n\nJune 14 & June 15\, 2018 8AM – 5PM\n\nLocation: \n\nSEMSWA\, 7437 S Fairplay St\, Centennial\, CO 80112\n\nClick here to register \nClick here for the event flyer: HEC RAS Sediment Transport Course Updated \nQuestions? SUMMARY:2018 Stormwater Quality Field Trip
DESCRIPTION:The Stormwater Quality Committee is pleased to host the 2018 Stormwater Quality Field Trip on Thursday\, June 14th. The theme this year is “innovation.” We will be visiting a variety of types of stormwater quality post-construction BMP examples throughout the metro Denver area that display innovation: from a green roof to permeable pavers to urban bioretention to wetland treatments and using UV light to treat for bacteria discharges! We will also see the demonstration of an innovative tool to deal with materials cleaned out of forebays called “the Shaker.” As a component of each site visit\, we will be hearing from the engineers\, landscape architects and owners about their experience and perspective. Contact Candice Owen at owenc@bouldercolorado.gov with any questions.  Click Here to go to the Registration Site . \n\nWhere: Urban Drainage & Flood Control District\n2480 W. 26TH Ave. Suite 156-B \nDenver\, CO 80211\n303.455.6277 | udfcd.org\nWhen: Thursday June 14\nHow Much: $40\nArrive at 8:30\nDepart Parking Lot at 9:00\nReturn at 4:00\nLunch is Provided\nRegistration Deadline: June 11 – 5:00 PM
