SUMMARY:2018 Stormwater Quality Field Trip
DESCRIPTION:The Stormwater Quality Committee is pleased to host the 2018 Stormwater Quality Field Trip on Thursday\, June 14th. The theme this year is “innovation.” We will be visiting a variety of types of stormwater quality post-construction BMP examples throughout the metro Denver area that display innovation: from a green roof to permeable pavers to urban bioretention to wetland treatments and using UV light to treat for bacteria discharges! We will also see the demonstration of an innovative tool to deal with materials cleaned out of forebays called “the Shaker.” As a component of each site visit\, we will be hearing from the engineers\, landscape architects and owners about their experience and perspective. DESCRIPTION:The bus tour will start and end at the offices of the Southeast Metro Stormwater Authority (SEMSWA). \nThe CASFM Water Quality field trip is a daylong annual event. This year we will be visiting stream restoration projects as well as post-construction stormwater BMPs including level spreaders\, tree filters\, and bioretention basins. At each site\, engineers\, landscape architects and/or owners will share their experience and perspective. \nSites include: \n\nThe new SEMSWA demonstration garden\nCherry Creek Valley Ecological Park\nA 2-mile walk along the Cottonwood Creek restoration project\nAurora Sports Park level spreaders\nWillow Creek cascading rundown\,\nInverness level spreader\, and\nSEMSWA LID demonstration campus.\n\nThis trip fills up quickly so please register soon!
