SUMMARY:Facilitation Fundamentals: Practical Tools for Technical Professionals
DESCRIPTION:Facilitation is the skill of moving a group from point A to point B — with clarity\, alignment\, and forward momentum. It’s not about running a meeting. It’s about guiding conversations\, decisions\, and collaboration anywhere people are involved. \nThis hands-on workshop teaches practical tools you can use immediately in any setting (Design reviews. Public engagement. Project kickoffs. Internal work sessions. Partner coordination.) that requires navigating people and getting to outcomes. \nWhy It Matters\nTechnical problems are solvable. People problems are what slow projects down. Unclear purpose. Side conversations. Misalignment. Decisions that don’t hold. Strong facilitation clarifies direction\, keeps energy productive\, and ensures progress sticks. \nWho This is for\nEngineers\, designers\, architects\, construction professionals\, and consultants. No title required. If you work with people — and want better outcomes — this is for you. \nBy the End\, You Will: \n\nApply a simple five-step framework to any group setting\nDefine the “why” before work begins\nKeep conversations focused and constructive\nNavigate dynamics without escalating tension\nPractice with real-world scenarios\n\nWhat:   Facilitation Fundamentals: Practical Tools for Technical Professionals\nWhen:  April 9th from 8:30 a.m. to noon\nWhere: MHFD (12575 W Bayaud Ave\, Lakewood)\nLimit: 50\nCost:  $60\nCEUs: 3 credits pre-approved with ASFPM \n  \nMeet Your Facilitators: \nChristin Shepherd\, P.E.\, CFM\nFloodplain Manager at Mile High Flood District. Christin facilitates technical and regulatory conversations across jurisdictions and disciplines with a focus on clarity\, alignment\, and tools you can use immediately. \nRA Plummer\, P.E.\, AICP\nSenior Vice President by day and Entrepreneur by night\, RA brings decades of experience guiding complex collaboration among engineers\, elected officials\, and community partners – practical\, grounded\, and field-tested. \nRegister HERE.
