The grant is available to any community member\, organization\, or local agency that has experienced flooding or flood-related natural disaster. This could include\, but is not exclusive to\, degraded water quality\, victim of flooding or wildfire\, need for restoration\, experiencing sedimentation\, or need for mitigation. DESCRIPTION:CASFM is pleased to announce a training opportunity for HEC-RAS 2D for infrastructure design.  This is a 2-day course prepared by Dr. Gerald Blackler of Olsson and UC Denver prepared with CDOT transportation projects at the center of focus.  Training objectives intend to help attendees gain a reviewer level of proficiency with RAS Mapper\, view and extract results\, export output data to GIS and CAD\, and develop the skills to understand how input process informs output details.  There are limited seats available; the cost is $900 per person for the entire event.  CDOT will host the training at the Headquarters building in Denver located at 2829 W. Howard Place.  All attendees must check in at security on building entry\, and must also bring their own laptop loaded with HEC-RAS Version 6 (preferably 6.3 or later).  Meals and snacks are on your own\, a free parking option is available\, and attendees can opt to use the W-Line of light rail for transit to the CDOT building. \nRegistration opening soon. \nQuestions? DESCRIPTION:Where: Hydro and Terra Buildings at Colorado State University’s Spur Campus\nAddress and parking information will be provided to registered attendees in the week prior to the tours. \nWhen: Tuesday\, October 24th 1:30-4:00pm; followed by a Happy Hour at the Denver Stockyard Saloon next door \nWhat: The CASFM Water Quality Committee is excited to offer tours of Colorado State University’ Spur Campus with a special focus on water research. The tours will span the Hydro and Terra research buildings\, with stops at the Water TAP Laboratory\, the Hydro Backyard\, stormwater bioretention test plots\, and green roofs. Tours will be led by research collaborators from CSU\, Mile High Flood District\, and the City and County of Denver. \nThe tour will be on-foot. Time will be spent inside\, outside\, and even on a roof! So be prepared for weather. \nRegistration: $10 (Registration fee covers costs of the event and appetizers at the Happy Hour. Any remaining funds will be donated to a community-based nonprofit organization affiliated with CSU Spur). There are a limited number of spots so register early to claim one.
