SUMMARY:CRS Committee Meeting
DESCRIPTION:At this meeting\, we will have a presentation from Jeremy Hamer and Kim Pirri on elevation certificates.   They gave this presentation at the CASFM conference\, but not everyone was able to attend.  Here is the description from the CASFM program: “Does your community participate in the CRS? Are your Elevation Certificates correct? Join us to review all the nit-picky details of the Elevation Certificate\, common errors\, and what you\, as a community\, can do to correct those pesky errors.”  Thanks to Jeremy and Kim for volunteering to do this!  I think communities will find this topic helpful in preparation for the annual recertification due in May. \nDate:                  Thursday Feb. 13\, 2020 \nTime:                  10 am – Noon (lunch following – please RSVP to Teresa Patterson at tpatterson@udfcd.org) \nLocation:            Mile High Flood District – Board Room \n                             2840 W. 26th Ave\, Suite 156-B \nMeeting Call-in Info for February Meeting \nPlease join my meeting from your computer\, tablet or smartphone.\nhttps://global.gotomeeting.com/join/993788933 \nYou can also dial in using your phone. \nUnited States: +1 (872) 240-3412 \nAccess Code: 993-788-933 \nFirst GoToMeeting? SUMMARY:NeFSMA Kingsley Dam Tour and 2019 Western Nebraska Seminar
DESCRIPTION:https://www.casfm.org/wp-content/uploads/2019/03/2019-NeFMSA-Western-NE-Seminar-Agenda.pdf \n  \nOn May 2-3 NeFSMA will having a tour of Kingsley Dam\, followed by speakers regarding issues related to the dam\, dam safety\, endangered species\, the Platte River Basin\, and more. \nThe NeFSMA professional development committee members are very excited about this event since you don’t normally get to tour a dam of this magnitude as part of a floodplain/stormwater organization.  The event has been set up so public officials in eastern NE can travel during the morning of a work day\, justify an overnight stay since we will have an evening program with CEC’s\, and travel home the afternoon of a 2nd day.   But it turns out Denver is actually closer to Ogallala than Lincoln (3 hours verses 4 hours) so works great for Colorado CASFM members to make the trip also! \nWe have been pre-approved for 7.5 CEC’s from ASFPM so is a great opportunity also for CFM’s to pick up quite a few hours if they can’t make one of your schedule events with CEC’s.  We can’t offer mountain views like you do at your annual convention (was at your Crested Butte conference in 2016 so know a little bit about your conference amenities)\, but can offer a big lake\, great tour and some floodplain/stormwater socializing.   We also attempted to have some less regional (Nebraska) presentations the next day so does not sound like an all Big Red event. \n  \nhttps://www.nefsma.com/event-3304934 \n
