DESCRIPTION:2021 CASFM Annual Research Grant \nDo You Have a Research Project that Needs Funding? As stewards of stormwater principles and practices\, the Colorado Association of Stormwater and Floodplain Managers (CASFM) supports engineers\, academics\, friends\, and colleagues in their pursuit of stormwater affiliated research. Each year\, we offer a grant for stormwater-related research funding\, and that money could help you! In 2021\, we will be offering two $2\,500 grants! \nAbout CASFM:\nCASFM is an organization of professionals involved in floodplain and stormwater management\, water quality\, flood hazard mitigation and flood preparedness. CASFM works to reduce the loss of human life and property from flood and storm damage while also improving the environment. \nGrant Eligibility:\nThe grant is available to CASFM members and non-members alike. Recipients shall contribute to the fields of floodplain and stormwater management\, water quality\, flood hazard mitigation\, or public outreach. \nTo Apply:\nTo apply for the grant\, please send a research proposal to lisa.lauver@stantec.com. Proposals shall describe how the funds would be used\, how the research aligns with CASFM’s mission\, and who will benefit from the research. Proposals shall also be less than 500 words. \nDeadline for proposals: \nMarch 1\, 2021 A winner will be selected and contacted by April 1st. This training is open to any and all involved in the development of their local hazard mitigation plan\, including local government officials\, emergency managers\, land use planners\, engineers\, and floodplain administrators\, those involved in the development of other local plans or those who just want to learn more about hazard mitigation planning. Please forward this invitation to your local communities and anyone who may be interested! \n\nDuring the training\, we will hear from local communities\, state representatives\, and the FEMA R8 Mitigation Planning Team. We will share stories and resources to equip you with practical approaches and examples for how you can engage in and implement effective mitigation planning to reduce long-term risk from natural hazards and disasters. \n\nThe content is broken up into four modules that cover the stages of mitigation planning.
