DESCRIPTION:Presenters:  \nKalli Wegren\, Brian Campbell\, Brian Varrella\, Colorado DOT & Sara Johnson\, Muller Engineering \nAbstract: \nIn the three year period stretching from 2016-2019\, the Colorado Department of Transportation and our partners in consulting used 2-dimensional hydraulic analysis quick checks to reduce construction costs by $14 million across the northeast corner of Colorado.  An initiative was hatched in 2019 to use these back-of-envelope studies to realize similar savings and safety improvements across the state.  Now an ambitious effort is underway to complete 50 2D Quick Checks in one year\, the the early results are compelling!  Join us as we discuss past successes\, current experiments\, and future training curriculum and project selection procedures that are under development at CDOT with support from six firms in Colorado. \nCourse Objectives: \n\nShowcase historic CDOT project successes with 2D Quick Checks\nShow the progress of a statewide initiative to complete 50 projects in 1 year in partnership with 6 consulting firms in Colorado\nDiscuss strategies for other CASFM members to discover safety enhancements\, project improvements\, and cost savings with 2D Quick Checks\nCollect feedback on training curriculum currently under development statewide (free to consultants and public sector employees)\n\n  \nCOST: FREE \nCLICK HERE TO REGISTER \n*Continuing Education Credit (1.5 hour) will be provided*
